La Crosse woman charged with stealing cats arrested in Chicago
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
A La Crosse woman who fled the state after she was charged with stealing 15 cats from the Onalaska Humane Society has been arrested in Chicago, according to La Crosse District Attorney Tim Gruenke.
Lee Ann Shore, 46, is accused of breaking into the Humane Society in May to get her cats back after Animal Control removed them from her home due to the poor living conditions.
Shore was suppose to appear in court on September 10 but did not show up. La Crosse County issued a bench warrant for her arrest. Gruneke said she was arrested in Chicago last week.
Shore is charged with burglary, criminal damage to property, theft, bail jumping and resisting officers.
