Ballet La Crosse will premiere it's performance of Heidi on Nov. 29 at 7 pm.
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
It's a well-known classic, and now it's coming to the stage. Ballet La Crosse will premiere its performance of Heidi on Nov. 29 at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
This will be the semi-professional company's second full-length, original show based on the novel and the movie featuring Shirley Temple. Artistic Director Kennet Oberly and Associate Director Amanda Schams collaborated to bring the story to the stage.
"The story telling through classical ballet will draw you into the excitement, near tragedy and the power of inner strength, selflessness, and love," said Oberly. "It is a performance the whole family can enjoy together."
More than 60 local dancers, both kids and adults have been rehearsing extensively. Schams said the process and presentation is just like that seen in professional companies.
The performances are Saturday, Nov. 29 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 30 at 2:00 p.m. Prices for tickets range from $16 to $22. Kids 18 and under are $10. To reserve your seats, contact the Weber Center Box Office at 784-9292 or online at webercenterfortheperformingarts.org.
