Every Wednesday the man with the long white beard draws a crowd of kids coming to hear him read a book.
It's more like a performance by a man who is quite the character.
Anyone who knows Peter Petersilie will tell you he's also got his hands in many community causes but kids are his passion.
Part of that could be because he is a kid at heart.
Petersilie is also a diehard optimist but don't be mistaken.
He's a straight shooter.
What you see is what you get. "I once had someone get upset with me. And she said what do you think? and it was a person in authority. And she got very upset and I said I'm sorry if you ask me what I think you're gonna know what I think. You don't have to like it but that's what I think,"
Petersilie is also the umpire for the Apple Jacks baseball season.
He's on the Steering Committee for Storyfest and you can find him just about anywhere there's a need. Chances are, he's in costume too.
