The December 31 deadline is looming for MNsure health care enrollment, and the Rochester Public Library is helping and informing those who wish to purchase health care coverage through the exchange.
Since November, the library has hosted a class on MNsure and healthcare, including a class held this Saturday. However, since the deadline for 2015 coverage is approaching, there is only one more class remaining, which will be held at the library Monday evening.
Kolloh Nimley, the woman in charge of the class, hopes she can spread the knowledge of MNsure and healthcare to southeast Minnesotans.
"You don't get health insurance as a decoration on your wall," said Nimley. "You get health insurance so that you become proactive in your own healthcare, meaning having those annual doctor's visits."
As of Friday, nearly 59,000 Minnesotans have signed up for 2015 health insurance coverage through MNsure, including 32,000 signing up for public programs.
