Children's Museum offers 'Happy Noon Year' celebration
La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
For some children and adults, midnight may be too late to stay up and ring in the new year. As a family friendly alternative, children rang in the 'noon' year Wednesday at the Children's Museum of La Crosse.
There was face painting, crafts, and a countdown to noon. Children from the first and second floors threw balloons to the basement floor where children stomped on bubble wrap.
"Sometimes New Year's celebrations are not as family friendly, so this is a way for kids to get involved in the celebration," said Marketing Director Leanna Poellinger, "We love to make noise and have fun."
Another big event is coming to the Children's Museum of La Crosse next month. A traveling exhibit called "Tinkertoy: Build Your Imagination" debuts on January 17th.
