COPY-Wisconsin schools offer alerts via applications

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Two eastern Wisconsin school districts are offering important mass alerts for parents and students through new applications.

The apps offered by the North Fond du Lac and Lomira school districts send information about weather alerts, student grades, lunch menus, school calendars and more. North Fond du Lac launched its app after Thanksgiving break, while the Lomira app has been available for nearly a year.

The Lomira School District technology coach says it was the second school district in the state to offer an app.

North Fond du Lac School Superintendent Aaron Sadoff tells The Reporter Media that the app is customizable so parents can choose what kind of alerts they receive. He says it's also linked to the school district's social media accounts.
