ARCADIA (WKOW) -- Following an OSHA investigation it was discovered that more than 1,000 worker injuries were reported at Ashley Furniture Inc., in Arcadia.
The investigation began after an employee lost three fingers during a work place injury in July 2014. It was discovered that the employee was operating the piece of machinery without proper safety mechanisms in place. More than 100 other injuries reported were caused by a similar violation.
Ashley Furniture has since been placed in the Severe Violator Enforcement Program for failing to address the safety hazards.
The company employs 20,000 workers at 30 locations nationwide. The Arcadia plant is the largest employer in Trempealeau County.
