Chryst anxious to see how his QB derby plays out

Posted: Updated:
Now that signing day has come and gone, Badgers head coach Paul Chryst can finally take stock of his full roster. The most important question he needs to answer before next season, who is his starting quarterback?

Chryst added two quarterbacks in this recruiting class.

Redshirt freshman D.J. Gillins was highly recruited as well.

Plus, you have the three veterans: Joel Stave, Tanner McEvoy and Bart Houston.

That's six scholarship quarterbacks.

Chryst said Wednesday he would talk to McEvoy to see if he wanted to move to safety.

Either way, there is a logjam of candidates vying to unseat Stave.

"I've got to continue to look at it but if we're going to be stacked at one spot, I kind of like it being at the quarterback. The one thing that I'm probably looking most forward to is just getting with our players and being able to spend some time, throw and get with the quarterbacks. We've got a lot of guys right now," said Chryst.
