The Great Rivers United Way elects two new members to co-chair the organization each year.
This year's co-chairs are Roger and Dianne Brudos-Thornton.
"We will meet with them right away to set a goal and then what they will do is bring people that might not know United Way into the fold," Mary Kay Wolf, United Way Executive Director explained.
"We are always looking at new donors, always looking at new people to bring to the United Way table," Wolf continued.
Last year the organization exceeded their goal of a little over two million dollars.
"We raise a lot of money for a lot of people that need help and a lot of programs that are decided on by volunteers in the community and that money mostly stays in the community and so I am just happy to be a part of it and help out," Roger Thornton said.
Both Roger and Dianne say they are thrilled to co-chair the campaign.
They already have a jump start.
Dairyland Power donated $5,000 at the event Wednesday night.
