Green Bay (WXOW) – Former Packers quarterback Brett Favre wants his induction into the Packers Hall of Fame to be held inside Lambeau Field, instead of in the atrium, as is planned right now, according to WBAY-TV in Green Bay.
WBAY reports Favre made the statement during a TV appearance on FOX News' 'On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.'
The banquet is set for July 18.
Tickets for the event are not being made available to the public. About 1,600 people will attend, which includes sponsors and companies that support the Packers throughout the year, according to the team.
Lambeau Field holds close to 80,000 people.
“I know it's been stressful for the Packers especially, but we've gotten a lot of emails as well – it being sold out,” Favre told Van Susteren. “In my opinion, I'd to see us do it in the stadium. I think everyone should have a chance to go.”
It's unclear whether the Packers and the Hall of Fame can or will move the event, according to ESPN Wisconsin.
Favre and the Packers made the announcement of his return to Lambeau Field in August of 2014.
