(WAOW) – “I messed up in the NFC Championship Game, and trust me, it hurts. I'll probably think about my role in the botched onside kick every day for the rest of my life. It haunts me like a recurring nightmare,” former Packers tight end Brandon Bostick wrote for a recent article for Sports Illustrated.
Bostick botched an onside kick with close to two minutes remaining in the NFC Championship game. The Seahawks would go onto score and would end up winning in overtime, sending them to the Super Bowl.
He said he's received death threats because of the play. Bostick says he knew what he was supposed to do, but instinct took over and he went for the ball.
Bostick was later cut by the Packers. In the article, he said, “I think seeing me would remind them of losing the NFC Championship. I think the Packers wanted a new start, so I got one, too.”
The next day, he would be picked up by the Vikings. Bostick said he hopes this is his chance to start fresh.
“Even though I will think about it every day, I hope one day I will be remembered for something else,” Bostick wrote.
