DECORAH, Iowa (AP) - An eagle watched by the Raptor Resource Project's Decorah Eagle Cam has laid a third egg this season.

The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/1EzAJBz ) that the third egg was laid just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. That follows the eagle pair's tradition of laying three eggs every mating season.

Bob Anderson, who maintains the Decorah Eagle Cam, says each egg takes about 35 days from the time they're laid to hatch.

The couple's second egg arrived Feb. 21. The first egg arrived Feb. 18.

The parents take turns sitting on the eggs to incubate them. They can only leave the eggs uncovered for a few moments in this winter's subzero temperatures.
