Transferring of fuel is to blame for a fire at Lunda Construction in Black River Falls.
The Black River Falls Fire Chief Steve Schreiber said on Thursday morning workers were dumping fuel out of the tank of a vehicle. The fuel ignited and started the fire.
It took three fire departments more than five hours to extinguish the flames. The mechanical shop part of the building is a total loss.
Lunda employee, Joseph Kopp, 30, of Neillsville, was in the shop at the time of the fire. He suffered burns to his leg and hands. He remains in the UW-Madison burn unit.
