GREEN BAY (WXOW) – Former Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk has reached a two-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to ESPN.
Green Bay released Hawk, saving $3.5 million against the salary cap, according to ESPN.
“You never completely take your eye off the team you grew up watching,” Hawk said Tuesday on the Bengal's website. “I know of the talent they have here. They have studs everywhere you look. That was a huge factor. I wanted to go to a place and win and this locker room definitely has that.”
Hawk, an Ohio State graduate, recorded 53 solo tackles in his ninth year with the Packers.
He is originally from Ohio.
