Gordon takes part in on-field drills. sits out for testing at UW Pro Day
MADISON (WKOW) -- Melvin Gordon's intention was to prove his past catching ability at the UW Pro Day on Wednesday afternoon. Gordon sat out for the testing portion of the Pro Day, but went out for passes in front of scouts at the McClain Center. Gordon said he was advised not to go through any more testing, after putting up some solid numbers at the NFL Combine.
"A lot of people was wondering can I catch the ball and after the Combine I didn't have too many opportunities to catch the ball away from my body and I did today. I caught the ball well," Gordon said.
Offensive lineman Rob Havenstein also sat out for the on-field testing. He did take part in the bench press, getting 20 reps, four more than his total of 16 at the NFL Combine. He also took part in some on-field drills in front out scouts.
Other former Badgers who participated were Kenzel Doe, Warren Herring, Dallas Lewallen, Peniel Jean and Jacob Pedersen. UW-Whitewater's Matt Behrendt and Jake Kumerow also went through drills.
