If media members weren't forced to have their ballots in before Sunday's game was over, Bronson Koenig probably would've won the Big Ten Tournament MVP.
Instead, it went to Frank Kaminsky.
No one's complaining.
Now Traevon Jackson is expected to return to practice this week, although it's likely Koenig will keep his starting spot.
Koenig had a great week at the Big Ten Tournament.
He had 18 points and nine assists in the title game against Michigan State.
But even 'Frank the Tank' admitted Koenig could have easily won the honor.
The La Crosse Aquinas graduate is becoming more assertive and a go-to guy down the stretch.
"I'd like to split that trophy right down the middle with Bronson. He was fantastic the whole tournament. Without him in that game, I don't think we win," Kaminsky said.
"He knows we have confidence in him. He has confidence in himself to make and take those shots. He's proved it over and over again that he can do it," said senior guard Josh Gasser.
"I think I matured a little bit in the second half there and in overtime, hitting some big free throws and shots and having some assists out there. So, I thought I took a couple steps forward," Koenig said.
The Badgers play 16th-seeded Coastal Carolina Friday at 8:20 PM in Omaha, Nebraska.
