Koenig ready to take on familiar foe

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA (WXOW)  The Badgers are anxiously awaiting Thursday's West Region semifinal against North Carolina.
They are two wins away from the final four.
It was at the final four, in the game against Kentucky, that Bronson Koenig had his coming out party.

Koenig scored 11 points off the bench in that game.
Almost exactly one year later the Aquinas grad is a seasoned vet, having started in place of the injured Traevon Jackson since early January.
He has scored in double figures in five of the last six games while also posting a nearly 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.
Koenig was recruited heavily by North Carolina
But he's a Badgers and, instead, he'll line up against his former AAU teammate, Tar Heels guard J.P. Tokoto.

"It was pretty cool playing schools like Duke and Virginia who also recruited me heavily.  I think I definitely had a strong relationship with Coach Williams and J.P.  So this one will be a little more special," Koenig said.

The Badgers and Tar Heels tip off at 6:47 at the Staples Center Thursday night.
