La Crosse, WI (WXOW) -
The Western Technical College women's basketball is known for featuring home-grown talent, and on Wednesday the Cavaliers added four more. Aquinas's Shayna Halverson, West Salem's Larissa Jacobson, Onalaska's Terra Stutley, and La Crescent's Clara Horn all signed letters of intent Wednesday for the 2015-16 school year.
All four girls cited being able to play close to home, and to play with each other, as reasons they chose WTC.
"When I had this opportunity and sat down with the coaches and explained it to me, I kind of got excited," Halverson said. "My sister played college basketball and she kind of talked to me about it too. That's how she met some of her really good friends. Now I have the opportunity to play with some of my good friends that I've already played with. I think it's going to be really fun, so I'm excited."
Horn is honored to play the game she's loved since 1st grade.
"It's a big honor to me, feel really blessed. It'll be interesting to see how we all combine," she said.
Stutley said she is blessed to be able to play the game she loves.
"It felt great to know that I'm going to play the sport I love for another two years with some friends," she said.
The Cavaliers finished 9-17 last season.
