The season is on the line Monday night for the Coulee Region Chill. After racing out to a 2-0 series lead in the Midwest Division Semi-Finals against the Minnesota Wilderness, the Chill have dropped their last two games and now face a must-win situation on the road at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.
The Wilderness came into Green Island Ice Arena over the weekend and won Game 3 and Game 4 to even the series. The Chill served more penalty minutes, and trailed 4-0 in each game.
Despite all the momentum being with the Wilderness ahead of Game 5, the Chill remain confident in the ability to close out this opening round of the North American Hockey League playoff series on the road.
"I think the boys really want to come together and make something of this season," forward Dawson DiPietro said following Saturday's 9-1 loss. "We've got a lot of (1994's), a lot of guys that could be playing their last game, and they really don't want it to be their last game. It's going to be do-or-die, it's Game 5. We like our chances there."
The Chill earned a 4-2 win in Game 1 and a 3-1 win in Game 2 on the road. The team's only regular season victory against the Wilderness also came on the road.
Game 5 is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
