Bill would make it illegal to drive with earbuds, headphones
Madison, WI (WKOW) - -
It would be illegal to operate a motor vehicle while wearing headphones or earbuds under a new bill introduced in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Under the bill, a person who violates the prohibition would face a citation of between $20 to $40 for the first offense and between $50 to $100 for a second offense.
However, the bill would not apply to people operating authorized emergency or roadside service vehicles, sanitation workers, people operating a motorcycle that are wearing a helmet with integrated headphones or people wearing hearing aids.
