Tanner McEvoy preparing for possible two-way role for Badgers
Madison, WI (WXOW) - -
Saturday marks the first spring game for new Badgers head coach Paul Chryst. It is not the first for Tanner McEvoy, but he'll be experiencing a new role this time around.
McEvoy is expected to start at safety Saturday afternoon for the final practice of the season, the format of which will consist of four 20-minute quarters with a running clock. He may also see time at wide receiver.
McEvoy is bulking up physically, and hitting the playbook mentally to handle a possible two-way role this fall.
"Not a lot of kids get the opportunity to do it. The coaches think I can. I think I could too," he said. "I just want to help this team any way they ask me to."
The spring game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
