COPY-UPDATE: Rochester, Austin, Winona Hy-Vee locations received recalled Summer Fresh Pasta Salad

DES MOINES, Iowa (KTTC) -- Hy-Vee, Inc. has issued a recall of its Summer Fresh Pasta Salad Tuesday due to a potential Listeria contamination. The recalled product was shipped to 42 stores, including locations in Rochester, Austin, and Winona.

The Summer Fresh Pasta Salad is sold in the store's kitchen department cold cases and salad bars.

Hy-Vee issued the recall after learning the vegetables used in the pasta could have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The vegetables were produced by Inventure Foods in Jefferson, Georgia.

The recalled pasta would have been sold between April 9 and April 27 in 16 oz. and 32 oz. clear plastic containers. The containers would have a light tan scale-produced label with the product name, weight and price.

All stores that have received the recalled pasta have been instructed to dispose of it. Hy-Vee has also discontinued distribution of the product to stores that would have received it in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. The Crossroads Dr. location in Rochester, the 18th Ave. NW location in Austin, and the Service Road location in Winona all received the recalled pasta.

So far, there have been no reports of illness linked to the Summer Fresh Pasta Salad. Anyone who purchased the recalled product should throw it away or return it to a Hy-Vee store for a refund.
