The Tomah VA Medical Center released a 30-day plan Monday to try and improve operations at the facility.
The plan created by Acting Medical Director John Rohrer comes in the wake of a scandal at the VA, that alleges the hospital was over-prescribing pain medication to veterans.
The 30-day plan includes ideas for a culture change at the hospital that includes a listening session between the acting director and five employees.
The hospital also wants to get leaders more involved in the day-to-day operations, improving access to veterans and improving the partnership between the hospital and the union.
While the plan doesn't mention the scandal, it does call for a pain management seminar in June to improve the handling of chronic pain in patients with complex mental health issues.
