The new Minnesota stadium hit a major milestone today. Construction crews poured the final vertical concrete column. 10,000 concrete trucks have poured over 1,200 concrete columns over the last 16 months inching the stadium closer to its expected July 2016 opening.
By the time it's finished the stadium will have used more than 100,000 cubic yards of concrete. It will seat some 65,000 spectators, and for Super Bowl 52, which Minneapolis is hosting in 2016, it will expand it's seating to 72,000.
