Late surge helps Eagles eliminate Trinity

 APPLETON, Wis. (WXOW)  The UW-La Crosse baseball team will play for the division three title. 

They eliminated Trinity (Texas) 10-7 in an elimination game Tuesday at the NCAA Div. III World Series.

UW-L fell behind 3-0 before scoring 10 unanswered runs to seize control.

That included a five run 7th inning. 

Then the game was delayed for five hours because of heavy rain.

Bryce Barsness and Shane Adler let a 16-hit attack for the Eagles with three hits each.

Joel Zyhowski, Eric Vatch and Carter Hoffman each drove in two runs.

The Eagles will begin a best of three series with SUNY-Cortland Tuesday night with game one. 

Game two and three, if needed, will be played Wednesday at Fox Cities Stadium.
