BARABOO (WKOW) --- Sauk County Sheriff's Department tells 27 News that a 2-year-old boy was found in a concrete hole at a construction site in Baraboo.
Officials say a construction crew found the boy crying when they arrived at the construction site early Thursday morning.
The child was inside of a cement hole in the ground that was covered with a tarp.
The construction company tells 27 News they almost canceled the work today due to the rain. They did later cancel work so police could investigate the area.
A deputy says the boy lives nearby in the Township of Baraboo, the construction site is in the City of Baraboo.
Officials also say the boy's family did not know he was missing.
The boy was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but officials say it did not appear he had any apparent injuries.
They are still investigating how the boy got there and how long he was there. The construction crew says they cleared the site at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and he was not there at that time.

Baraboo Police say they responded to a construction site on Hatchery Road near Commerce Street after construction workers found the child crying.
The child was taken to the hospital and the parents were located.
Police are investigating how the child got there. Officials do say the child lives in Sauk County.
