Madison, WI (WXOW) - -
Junior pitcher Jordyn Kleman struck out 13 batters over seven innings in the circle and drove in three runs Friday night as her Logan Rangers beat New London 3-1 in the division 2 state softball semifinals.
With the win, Logan advances to Saturday's championship game against Waupun at Goodman Diamond.
"It's phenomenal. It's an insane feeling," Kleman said afterward. "I just had to stay focused, stay relaxed. It's a big field to play on and just gotta stay relaxed."
Kleman didn't surrender a hit until the 5th inning, and gave up the lone run in the bottom of the 7th. She finished the game with three hits allowed.
On offense, she homered to left field in the 3rd inning to plate the game's first two runs, then added an RBI double to left center in the 5th to give Logan a 3-0 lead.
"I just stay relaxed there too," she said. "I just got to do my job in both places and I take them separately because if one's down I got to pick it up with the other one."
Catcher Kadie Weiss also had two hits for the Rangers (27-1), scoring on the double in the 5th. Sydney Lamers scored on the two-run homer after singling to start the 3rd.
Waupun and Logan will play at 12:30 p.m. at Goodman Diamond for the division 2 championship.
