Chief of Police, David Kuderer
Wayside Tavern, Sparta, Wisconsin
Sparta, WI (WXOW) -
Sparta Police on Wednesday released the names of three people taken into custody for their roles in an armed robbery earlier this month.
Chief David Kuderer said that 27-year-old David C. Walton, 27-year-old Cody D. Nelson, and 23-year-old Courtney L. Stalsberg, all of Sparta, were booked into the Monroe County Jail Wednesday. They are accused of taking thousands of dollars along with personal goods in a June 11 hold up of the Wayside Tavern.
The Monroe County Joint Investigative Task Force consisting of Sparta, Tomah and Monroe County Officers helped the Sparta Police Department complete the investigation by using surveillance video and tips from Sparta citizens.
Chief Kuderer said, "There were a lot of hours put into the investigating and talking. So as they say, we did have a lot of help from Monroe County, and Sparta and Tomah officers that worked together real good, in following up on a lot of the leads."
Chief Kuderer said that the three are scheduled for a court hearing Thursday afternoon.
He also said that investigators recovered most of the money taken in the robbery along with the weapon used in the incident.
