La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) --- The members of River City Water Ski Team make it look so easy.
"It's a lot harder than it looks. You'll see a big pyramid goes up and everyone will cheer and they don't know that we put up pyramids
up day after day and it takes a lot of effort and coordination to put a whole show together," said Mark Aschenbrenner.
Oliver Krett has been on the team for a few years and says it's a year round commitment. "Even during the winter we're out practicing on dry land using ropes and climbing pyramids."
McKenzie Quillon has been on the team for three years and loves it. She's somewhat of a daredevil but that's because she trusts her teammates.
"They say don't be afraid to fall. If you are you will lock your legs and everything is worse when you are scared."
The show director says helping people like McKenzie overcome their fears is the best feeling. "It's so fun teaching new people stuff and their excitement makes it all worth it," said Ryan Aschenbrenner.
Over the years the team has acquired new equipment and new skills but what they most want is for La Crosse to know they are out there performing free shows every Wednesday at Airport Beach.
