Tomah, WI (WXOW) -

Tomah kicked off its Independence Day festivities with its annual Fourth of July parade. The parade was led by Tomah's Linda Fournier who announced her retirement after 37 years at Fort McCoy.

Fournier has spent the last 26 years on the Tomah Chamber Board representing Fort McCoy. Fournier was given the honor of being the Parade Marshal to initiate the Fourth of July celebration. Fournier says the city of Tomah has meant so much to her.

"Tomah is such a vibrant community and the leadership here from the mayors we have had to the chamber executives," Fournier said.  Tomah is always looking to grow while still having that small town feeling but still having that economic development. Tomah is just a fantastic community."

Following today's parade the city will host its own firework show starting at 10 p.m. at Tomah's Recreation Park.
