TOMAH, Wis. (WXOW) The Tomah Timberwolves are hoping there will be a return to playoff football this season.
It used to be a regular occurrence, but not lately.
The T-wolves have missed out on the post-season the last two years after making it six years in a row.
They return a strong senior class from a team that went just 2-5 in the MVC last season.
But they are a confident group.
The seeds of success were planted after a very successful off season.
"Our attendance was better this summer. Just kids understanding the history of it (the program). For two years now, we haven't been in the playoffs. We had 6 in a row there with a couple of conference titles. We're trying to give a little bit of history so kids know and realize what we used to be like," said head coach Brad Plueger.
"We put in a lot of time in the off-season, before and after practice. Another key part of our team is that we have a lot of chemistry with a lot of our returning guys and our seniors. We've been playing together for the last six years, since middle school," said senior running back Josh Peardot.
Tomah has adopted the theme "Pound the Rock" this season, which is all about a positive attitude and maximum effort.
