Playoffs are a part of the tradition of Westby football.
This year the Norsemen will try to extend a streak of four straight seasons reaching the post season.
The Norsemen return about 10 starters from a team that went 7-3 last season. But they received some tough news before the season started when projected starting quarterback Kyle Anderson went down with a knee injury during basketball season.
So Shane Gran moves from receiver to quarterback this season. But with Travis Hofslien and Sawyer Hammes back he'll have plenty of weapons at his disposal.
"He's a smart kid. He's more than capable of learning the new steps and techniques for what th quarterback position is going to require. He throws a nice ball so he's ready. I really think he's ready," said head coach Andy Hulst.
"It's going to be a little different than wide receiver. But, overall, I should be all right. I'm looking forward to it," Gran said.
Westby is 15-6 overall over the last two seasons.
They open this season at Whitehall.
