Missing the playoffs last season is not sitting well with G-E-T.
They had a run of 11 straight seasons of playoff football come to an end. So it was easy for this year's Red Hawks to find motivation.
G-E-T returns 7 starters that were battle-hardened from some tough losses last year.
They lost four games by 11 points or less.
Making the plays to win games late is a point of emphasis with this year's group.
"The point has been made to them from the coaching staff of how important it is to go hard every week. We were in a lot of games last year where we were close, but we just didn't put it away. If we would've done the things we needed to do if's, whats, buts, would, could, should, we would've made the playoffs again last year," said head coach Jon Steffenhagen.
"I think we're going to have depth on the team this year. The experience, we're going to have a few guys back who are going to help a lot and we're going to miss a few guys. The guys coming back are going to be leaders. That's what we need this year," said senior running back Connor Kokott.
G-E-T begins the season with three straight road games starting with a trip to Mondovi August 21.
