La Crosse Police are investigating what neighbors are calling a drive by shooting Friday night.
Nicky Westlund lives right off of 5th Avenue South and Mississippi Street in La Crosse. She said around nine o'clock she heard multiple shots outside of her house.
"I was in the kitchen doing dishes and then I heard a bang bang bang bang. I thought it was firecrackers 'cause sometimes the neighborhood kids go throw them in the middle of the street, you know. And then I come outside and all the neighbors are outside and were like, 'No that was gun shots,'" Westlund said.
Westlund said one of her neighbors told her he saw a car speed off, fire five shots, turn around the corner and then fire six more shots.
When News 19 arrived on scene police were examining multiple shell casings that lined Mississippi Street and stretched all the way to Jackson Street and 5th Avenue. Investigators spent several hours searching the neighborhood with flashlights looking for evidence connected to the case.
La Crosse Police are not commenting at this time. All officers on the scene would say was that no one was injured.
