UPDATE: La Crosse Police have identified the victim in Friday's fatal shooting as 17-year-old George V. Miller of La Crosse.

UPDATE: La Crosse Police have arrested Deshawn Randall after a five hour standoff in a south side neighborhood.
La Crosse Police Lt. Pat Hogan made the announcement that Randall was taken into custody around 10:45 p.m.
"He surrendered once we made entry into the residence," Lt. Hogan said. "He will be charged with first degree intentional homicide."
Earlier Friday evening, police said they received information that Randall was in a residence in the 900 block of Denton Street. Officers surrounded the area and blocked off access to the area.
During the standoff, police evacuated residents from several residences and apartments surrounding the building.
The department's Emergency Response Team (ERT) along with La Crosse County's Emergency Response Team took part in the standoff.
According to a statement from police, Randall was found in an apartment at 918 Denton St. #5. Department negotiators tried to contact Randall inside the apartment, but weren't able to do so. The statement said that members of the ERT entered the apartment, located Randall, and arrested him without incident. He was the only one in the apartment.
"We have not located a weapon at this time, but we will continue our search," Lt. Hogan said.
He was then taken to the La Crosse County Jail where he will remain until a court appearance Monday.
Randall is also held on charges of 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment and Disorderly Conduct for an incident where he's accused of pointing a gun at two women earlier in the week.
UPDATE: La Crosse Police are in a standoff with shooting suspect Deshawn Randall in a south side neighborhood Friday night.
Randall is a suspect in the fatal shooting earlier today in La Crosse.
Shortly after 6 p.m., police blocked off an area bordered by 9th, 10th, Tyler, and Denton Streets. It is believed that Randall is in an apartment complex in the 900 block of Denton Street.
La Crosse Police posted this on their Facebook page shortly after 10 p.m.:
Fatal Shooting Update-La Crosse Police received information that suspect Deshawn Randall is located in a residence in the 900 block of Denton St. Our Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Officers have secured this area. Several residences and apartments have been evacuated and a secure perimeter has been established in this block.
Neighbors in that area who were outside were asked to go back into their homes and lock the doors.
The La Crosse County Emergency Response Team was on the scene as shown in one picture sent to WXOW by viewer Rikki Lee Bjorge.
At one point during the evening, authorities detonated an explosive device in an effort to enter the apartment complex.
They have also cut power to the building.
Officials have opened the Hood Park Community Center for shelter and food for people displaced by the standoff.

UPDATE: La Crosse Police release photo of shooting suspect Deshawn Randall.
The department released the photo late Friday afternoon of the 18-year-old Randall.
He is considered armed and dangerous by police and they warn the public not to approach him.

La Crosse Police have confirmed that the victim in Friday morning's shooting on the south side has died.
La Crosse Police Lt. Pat Hogan said they aren't releasing the name of the victim pending family notification. He did state that the victim is from La Crosse.
Lt. Hogan said that they are looking at Deshawn Mitchell Randall as a person of interest in the shooting.
Randall's description is that he an 18-year-old black male, 5'8", 130 lbs. He was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans.
According to Lt. Hogan, the incident began shortly after 10 a.m. when the victim, a passenger a car, pulled up to the suspect near 13th and Redfield. During the confrontation, the suspect shot at the victim. The victim left the vehicle and ran over to the 1300 block of Green Bay Street where more shots were fired. The victim was found in that area and pronounced dead at the scene according to police.
Randall then ran away before police arrived on the scene.
Lt. Hogan said this was not a random shooting, that '"the victim was targeted."
Investigators are also looking at any connections to last weekend's five shootings in the same area.
They plan to release additional information on the shooting later Friday afternoon.

La Crosse Police have sent out an alert searching for a person of interest in a homicide in a Friday morning shooting on the south side of La Crosse.
The Eau Claire Police Department tells WXOW their department received a teletype that they should be on the lookout for Deshawn Mitchell Randall.
The teletype said that Randall is a person of interest in a First Degree Homicide in La Crosse.
Eau Claire Police Community Relations Officer Kyle Roder said Randall's nickname is Little Man.
He is described as an 18-year-old black male, 5'9", 170 lbs.
The information provided to Eau Claire also gives a vehicle Mitchell may be in-a white 2004 Dodge Stratus. The license plate is 813-VWA.
La Crosse Police have not confirmed this information at this point to WXOW, but are expected to release a statement shortly.

A large police presence on the scene of multiple reported gunshots on the 1300 block of Green Bay and Redfield in La Crosse. Police received a call just after 10:00 this morning. At this time we are being told that there is one victim who apparently pulled up in a vehicle to confront the suspect and that is when the suspect fired several shots. The victim then took off running with the suspect chasing him up 1300 Redfield and down 14th Street. The victim ended up on the 1300 block of Green Bay Street. The victim's condition is not known at this time.
During the incident, nearby Gundersen Health System buildings were on lock down. That lock down has since been lifted.
Mayo Clinic Health System, has also lifted their lockdown from the time of of the shooting.
Viterbo University as well as Central and Hamilton public schools were also on lock down. Those have now all been lifted.
