On the final night of weekly racing at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, Steve Carlson and Mike Carlson made victory lane a family affair Saturday night.
Mike Carlson led most of the first Kwik Trip NASCAR Late Models feature to earn his first win of 2015, edging Brent Kirchner, Brad Powell, Shawn Pfaff and father Steve Carlson.
"I was hoping that a yellow wouldn't come out, but I also didn't want to mess up the car for the second feature," Mike Carlson said afterward. "Starting up front definitely helped, and I always enjoy a win."
Steve Carlson worked his way to the front of the second feature race and padded his points lead with yet another race win. Pfaff, Ty Majeski, Adam Degenhardt, and Matt Henderson completed the top 5.
"The car was out of control during the first race, and we changed some shocks and springs before the second one," Steve said afterward. "It ran really well, and I saw that Ingersoll-Rand had a really fancy power tool up for grabs for the winner. I set my sights on that and ended up winning."
Nick Bachman won the Dean's Satellite Sportsmen feature over points leader Nick Clements. Tony Leis, Brad Warthan, and Justin Mullikin completed the top 5.
Kyle Lockington won the Auto Value Thunderstox feature race, passing Scott Mahlum in the closing laps. Mahlum was disqualified in post-race inspection.
Jason Stark won the Mountain Dew Outlawz feature.
The next event at the Speedway is the Enduro 200 - for 4- and 6-cylinder cars - on September 5. The season concludes with Oktoberfest Race Weekend October 8-11.
