Incoming freshmen endured the rain Friday, August 28 to move into their dorm halls at Viterbo University in La Crosse.
Students, family members, and volunteers all lent a helping hand during the process as 280 freshmen moved-in.
One freshman, Emily Wilkie said she's thrilled to start this new chapter in her life.
"I'm gonna be an art major so I'm really excited for my art classes because that's going to be right up my alley. So I'm really just going to spend a lot of time in the art department and hopefully kind of get a home situated there," said Wilkie.
Transitioning into college life can be a fun time, but it can also be difficult. For empty nesters like Mike and Mary Ann Horner, the dreary day seemed to matched their mood.
"This one is harder, I said it wouldn't be but it is a little bit harder mainly because he's the last and he's a lot farther away than our first child is," said Mary Ann. "I'll probably be crying by the time we leave, I think he will too."
Classes at Viterbo begin on Monday, August 31.
