The Wisconsin Badgers want balance on offense this college football season. Corey Clement is eager to do his part in the run game.
After waiting patiently behind James White and Melvin Gordon, Clement is ready to carry on the tradition of excellence at tailback for the Badgers.
In his first two seasons, Clement saw time in 26 games, rushing for nearly 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging 7 yards per carry.
Clement said he has learned immensely from White and Gordon, who are now playing in the National Football League, but the focus now is to make a name for himself, starting with Saturday night's showdown against No. 3 Alabama.
"Not a lot of people can withhold the torch that I had passed down from Melvin and I'm happy," Clement said. "I feel great, grateful and just to actually have this moment, be amongst all the greats that have set the standard, you just want to take the moment in and make a name for yourself."
WXOW News 19 will broadcast the game Saturday. Live coverage from AT&T Stadium begins at 6:30 p.m.. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
