The Wisconsin Badgers rushed for 326 yards on Saturday against Hawaii to improve to 3-1 on the season. Taiwan Deal had a breakout performance, running for 147 yards and two touchdowns, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors.
A lot of the credit can go to the offensive line, which has been a work in progress this season after returning minimal experience, but put together a solid performance Saturday ahead of the Big Ten-opener against Iowa.
"As a unit, I think we're starting to come together more, communication has been a lot better, we're seeing things as a unit," redshirt senior lineman Tyler Marz said. "It was kind of fun to get the run game going last Saturday and see the success that we had with it."
Quarterback Joel Stave orchestrated four touchdown drives on the night. He said his protective unit up front is becoming more comfortable each week.
"To have three guys make their first start against Alabama and then now they've got three starts under their belt, I think they're getting better every week and they're getting more comfortable every week."
Kickoff between the Hawkeyes (4-0) and Badgers is set for 11 a.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
