LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) The UW-La Crosse women's soccer team is preparing for the WIAC Tournament.
They are the number two seed and will host UW-Whitewater Thursday evening.
The Eagles shared the conference title with UW-Oshkosh this season after finishing with an overall mark of 12-5 and 2.
This, after winning just 5 games all of last season.
"We set goals before the season. We set pretty high goals for ourselves. We said we wanted to number one in the WIAC. We want to make it to the NCAA Tournament. Those were obviously really high goals compared to where we were last year. But we knew we had the potential last year," said midfielder Kara Bednarek.
"This group of girls, none of us have an issue with each other. We work really well together as a team. We all get along. We just work really well together," said forward Alex Cording.
UW-L's conference title was it's first since 1996.
