More than 200 volunteers are busy prepping for Saturday's 38th Annual Roast Beef Dinner at La Crescent's Crucifixion School.
Organizers say last year the dinner served over 1,200 people. The dinner includes homemade roast beef and gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, carrots, dinner roll, and an apple pie slice. Organizers and volunteers say they are excited to continue a long standing tradition.
"It used to be a men's roast beef dinner but eventually it got quite big and we decided to make our own roast beef rather than catering it and so now it has grown to serving approximately 1,300 people," says Rosanne Buehler, a volunteer for 18 years.
The dinner is served from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Crucifixion School auditorium.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $11 at the door, and $5.50 for children.
You can find tickets at the Crucifixion school, Crucifixion church office, and Quillin's in La Crescent.
All proceeds benefit the Crucifixion Catholic School.
