Amherst and Arcadia have been on this collision course all season long, it seems.
They finally meet Friday night in the division 5 state semifinals.
Arcadia ended the regular season ranked number two in the state. Amherst is number one.
The Raiders have been blowing the doors off opponents throughout the playoffs.
But so has Amherst.
Both teams have speedy defenses and explosive offenses and for the first time this season Arcadia may be a slight underdog.
"This is a game you kind of see at the beginning of the year that you look forward to, that you hope to get to play in and all the guys are jacked up. It's the biggest game of the year so far," said running back Aaron Benson.
"Being number two, most people think we're the underdog but anytime you get to play the number one team ranked in the state, you want to take that and feel very confident in our game plan. Looking forward to it," said receiver Jim Hoesley.
Arcadia is trying to reach the state finals for the first time since 2009.
Kickoff at 7 PM at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
