It's day set aside each year to recognize those in the community who are especially good at giving.
It's called National Philanthropy Day and News 19's Dustin Luecke emceed the event.
The 30th annual event is put on by the Upper Mississippi Association of Fundraising Professionals. This year the AFP recognized Dyanne Brudos, Deb Ward, Jack and Rosie Glendenning, Philip Schumacher and RTP Company out of Winona all for their contributions to the Coulee Region.
"La Crosse, Wisconsin and the surrounding region has a group of individuals that are the most philanthropic and the most giving back to the community that I've ever seen," Brudos said.
She said she is honored to receive the award for Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser. Brudos added those in the La Crosse community should be proud of their heritage and continue to carry the works of good will forward for future generations.
