All-State football team announced


The Associated Press released it's All-State football team and two Caledonia players earned honors.

At the top of the First Team list is Caledonia sophomore quarterback Owen King who is coming off a big  season where he helped the Warriors win another State Championship. On the season, King was 143-222 passing for just over 2,400 yards and 44 touchdowns. King had a QB rating of 140.8.

Teammate Tanner Gran was named to the Third Team. 

Caledonia is coming off of an undefeated season and the team's seventh state title.

Stewartville defensive lineman Garret Nosbisch was also selected to First Team All-State. Nosbisch had 48 tackles on the season with eight sacks and four fumble recoveries.

Goodhue's Casey Deneen earned Second Team All-State. Seven players from the area made the Third Team All-State led by running backs Chase Rahman of PEM and Mason Carstens of Lourdes. Other Third Team selections include Grand Meadow's Michael Stejskal, and Winona's Jordan Barthelme.
