Stewartville basketball buys warmup shirts to honor La Crescent's Miller
La Crescent, MN (WXOW) -
While La Crescent junior Mario Miller waits for a lung and heart transplant in Rochester, the Stewartville boys basketball team showed their support Friday night as visitors at Mac Dahl Gymnasium.
The Tigers bought warmup shirts for both teams, and both coaching staffs wore them throughout Stewartville's 48-41 win.
Miller is a member of the basketball team, but was battling for his life just weeks ago. Lancers head coach Ryan Thibodeau said Miller has improved since, and last month was up walking around and eating solid foods.
Students and staff at La Crescent High School are selling armbands and taking donations to help fund the medical expenses and rehabilitation costs.
