What a night for Onalaska's Matt Thomas Thursday night.
Thomas played a huge role in Iowa State's comeback from a 20 point deficit to beat Iowa by one, 83-82.
Thomas came off the bench and hit 6 three-pointers and finished with 19 points.
Defensively, he shut down Iowa's Jarrod Uthoff in the second half after he scored 30 in the first half.
"It really wasn't a conversation with anybody. I just took it upon myself, my first couple of years here I felt like I was a liability on that end of the floor and that kept me out of games at times. I just worked on my feet and worked on my lateral quickness this summer. I want to bring that toughness role in every time I step on the court and play defense and rebound, help this team get wins," Thomas said.
Thomas is averaging 7.1 points per game coming off the bench this season for the 4th-ranked Cyclones.
