The future of the Wisconsin program got a lift Wednesday in the wake of Tuesday night's announcement that Bo Ryan was retiring, effective immediately.
La Crosse Central junior Kobe King is sticking with his commitment to the Badgers despite the coaching uncertainty.
The 2017 Badgers recruit spoke with WXOW News 19 Sports Wednesday afternoon.
King said he was surprised by Coach Ryan's announcement, thinking he would wait until the end of the season to retire. But he said Greg Gard has played an instrumental role in his recruitment and is the one coach he has communicated with the most during the recruiting process.
King made a verbal commitment to Wisconsin this fall.
