It was a banner day for four La Crosse area wrestlers at the Bi-State Classic at the La Crosse Center Wednesday night.
West Salem/Bangor's Devin Bahr captured his second Bi-State Classic title with a 13-5 win over Sparta's Hayden Krein at 152-pounds.
"I would have never thought that 365 days ago my knee would have healed as quick as it did and I'd be able to come here and wrestle as good as I did. It feels good right now, but I always have things to work on," Bahr said.
Central's Jaden Van Maanen won his second straight B-State Classic title with an 11-2 decision over Bryce Younger of New Richmond at 132-pounds.
"My goal coming into the tourney was to major everybody. Sometimes I can't get my turns going in the first period so just get some takedowns and easy points at the beginning of the match and tire them out," said Van Maanen.
Also picking up individual honors was Sparta's Jon Bailey.
Bailey won the 106-pound title with a 9-1 decision over Zach Licht of River Valley.
Caledonia's Alex Goergen took home the 195-pound title by beating Mike Delich of Eastview, 6-2.
Three other area wrestlers qualified for the finals but lost their championship matches and settled for second place: Kalyen Jahn of Holmen, Connor Williams of Central and Brandon Klimek of Cashton.
