Buffalo County (WQOW) - An area man originally accused of killing dozens of deer for the thrill of it, has been sentenced in Buffalo County.
Wardens said Joshua D. Peterson, from Mondovi, was involved in illegally shooting and killing approximately 40 deer and leaving most of them lay. They said he also had a juvenile accomplice.
Wardens said most of the deer were shot late last fall and early winter near rural Mondovi. Peterson entered a "no contest" plea to charges of failing to tag a deer and illegal shining.
Peterson was sentenced to a month and a half in jail, lost all DNR privileges for six years and was fined more than $3,700 on those charges.
