GREEN BAY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Green Bay Packers announced today that tight end Andrew Quarless was placed on injured reserve. The Packers added cornerback Robertson Daniel to the active roster. Daniel, who will wear No. 31, has been with the Packers practice squad since September 7.
It's been an extremely rough year for Quarless on and off the field.
In July 2015, he was arrested for firing a gun in public. He reached a plea agreement in November for the charge. He also paid a $1,00 fine and was sentenced to one year of probation. He has not faced discipline from the NFL.
Shortly after that, his daughter died upon delivery.
On the field, Quarless has dealt with an on-going knee injury since Week 3. He was on on the injured reserve/designated to return list until their first matchup with the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.
On Thursday night, Quarless posted on Instagram that "my season has come to an end not by choice". He also thanked fans for their support.
The Green Bay Packers travel to the Arizona Cardinals Saturday for a chance to go to the NFC championship game. Kick-off is set for 7:15 p.m. (CT).
